ASTHA A.

My name is Astha and I am a graduate student in the School Psychology program at UC Berkeley. I am from Newton, Massachusetts and I completed my Bachelor's degree in Economics and Psychology at McGill University in Montreal. I am interested in studying how relational support from teachers and other adults in school can build resilience in adolescents who have experienced high levels of cumulative childhood trauma.

SHARI A.

My name is Shari, and I am finishing my first year as a PhD student in UC Berkeley's School Psychology program. I was born and raised in the sunny state of Arizona, where I received a B.A. in Psychology at the University of Arizona Honors College. Currently, I am very interested in studying the challenges that many students face in and out of the classroom and working with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop programs that enable each student to reach their full potential. In specific, I am currently focused on studying ADHD in the adolescent population and the role that parents play in ADHD management.

NIKKI F.

My name is Nikki, and I am currently an Education PhD student in UC Berkeley's School Psychology program. Before moving to the Bay Area, I lived in New York and graduated from the State University of New York at Oneonta with B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Educational Psychology. My research interests include youth political engagement and civic education. Specifically, I am interested in youth voting intent, political knowledge and political efficacy. Ultimately, I hope to help inform and implement K-12 educational policies on state and national levels.

MAKAELA J.

My name is Makaela Jones, and I am a first year doctoral student in the School Psychology program at UC Berkeley. I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in Psychology and Exercise & Sport Science. I have a background in child mental health counseling and also enjoy coaching and sport-based positive youth development. My research interests include radical healing and care in schools and sport-based therapeutic approaches.

QUA M.

My name is Qua, and I am currently completing my first year as a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at UC Berkeley. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Texas and graduated with a B.S. in Psychology. My research interests include examining how identity, culture, and social cognition impact students' schooling experiences. 

JULISSA N.

My name is Julissa, and I am finishing up my first year as a doctoral student in the School Psychology program at UC Berkeley. I completed my undergraduate studies at UC Irvine and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and Education Sciences. My research interests include examining how psychosocial factors like students' motivation and teachers' expectations influence students' academic achievement and ethnic-racial achievement gaps.
